Keeping the Arts | Organizational Identity
Keeping the Arts, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, raises funds that enable educators throughout Oregon to finance artistic projects in Oregon public schools.
I was brought on to design the Keeping the Arts organizational identity. Working closely with Steve Gehlen, President of Keeping the Arts, and my colleague, Margot Stewart on the tagline, we created a distinctive and durable organizational identity. Exploring a number of directions, one idea emerged with resonance, the theme of Cultivating Imagination, which became the overarching concept that informed my design development work and the creation of the visual center for the identity.
The project deliverables included a series of signature configurations and an identity style guide for the Keeping the Arts organization. These similar, yet varied, orientations allowed the identity to translate across a host of future media applications. The final set of digital assets and guidelines help KTA consistently build on their communication efforts.
One of Keeping the Arts primary fundraising events is the Portland Creative Conference, an exploration and celebration of the creative process across a range of creative industries.
The Portland Creative Conference brings together industry professionals and creative speakers from around the world to share compelling personal journeys in creative inspiration and triumph. Speakers demonstrate how access to the transformative power of the arts unlocks creative minds as well as advances businesses and helps provide for a prosperous community.
I’m honored and privileged to share with you examples from the KTA identity project.
